Nicola and Lee
Relaxed, refreshed, re-energised. Nicola sauntered leisurely back through the woods of centre parks, after receiving the most amazing, professional massage in the spa, organised completely by her loving her boyfriend. As she opened the wooden door to her rental apartment, her heart skipped a beat as her eyes fell upon the most memorable and romantic scene. Nicola’s eyes danced around the candlelit room, decorated in rose petals and love hearts. In the centre of the room, her devoted boyfriend, Lee knelt on one knee, anxiously holding a ring. Not just a ring. A Haribo ring. In a fit of laughter, with tears of joy in her eyes, Nicola said yes to marrying the man of her dreams.
Exactly one year later, the happy couple celebrated their honeymoon in the same resort. In the meantime, a whirlwind of planning, wedding dress shopping and bouquet designing, had all come together for the beautiful wedding of Mr and Mrs Dyas. Starting in Sawley Church, dressed in neutral colours with a rustic theme and sprinkles of ivory and silver accents, Lee waited patiently up the aisle. Wearing a wool grey suit to coordinate with the rustic theme and a tie to match the bridesmaids, Lee’s mouth dropped when turned to watch his stunning fiancé walk towards him. Dressed in an elegant La Sposa gown, with an A-line silhouette and detail, embellished cap sleeves, Nicola looked flawless. The shape and design suited her perfectly, highlighting her natural beauty. The large bouquet she carried was filled with an ivory ensemble of roses and ranunculas, perfectly suited to this gorgeous wedding’s theme. As everybody’s eyes watched her intently in awe, Nicola slowly paced down the aisle and revealed the low-cut scoop back and rounded train of her amazing dress. The floor length veil and diamond headband added the picture-perfect detail to finish off her beautiful wedding attire.
After the ‘I do’s’, the wedding party continued and 100 of the newlyweds nearest and dearest filled the rustic halls of Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel. The rural and neutral theme resonated, ornamenting the room with candles and ivory flowers. As the party was roaring and the laughter resounded through the hotel, Nicola thought back to the first night she met the love of her life, in an unassuming night out in Long Eaten 9 years beforehand. Little did she know then, she’d become Mrs Dyas for the rest of her life.
Were you nervous the night before your wedding, if so, how did you overcome the nerves?
Yes, completely. I had all my friends over for a girl’s night so they kept me company with girlie chat and laughs.
What was your favourite moment of your wedding?
Seeing Lee’s amazed expression as I walked down the aisle was priceless. And the speeches were brilliant too! Lee’s was so emotional and his best woman’s was hilarious and unique. Unforgettable!
Do you have any top tips on how to get the most out of your photographer?
Write a list of which photos you would like to be taken to give to the photographer before the day. This way, he’ll know exactly what you want before your special day and you won’t need to worry.
If you could go back to the planning stage of your wedding, what would you do differently and why?
Not leave everything to the last minute. Planning is key!! Avoid the stress.
What is the best piece of advice you could offer another bride?
Enjoy every minute of the day as it goes so fast.
How did you choose your suppliers?
Recommendations from friends and family were essential in finding trustworthy suppliers. Additionally, going to wedding fairs was exceptionally helpful.
What are you most looking forward too about married life?
Being called Mrs Dyas.
