Tom and Rosie

On the first night in their first new home together, Rosie dug out the plastic forks as Tom lay a picnic blanket on the floor of their bare living room. Looking lovingly at each other through candlelight, the couple shared a romantic picnic and celebrated an exciting start to their future. As the couple giggled over stories and jokes Rosie paused, taking in her surroundings, overwhelmed with happiness. Looking back at Tom, now down on one knee, she gasped with glee as he asked for her hand in marriage.

On the day of his wedding, Tom looked handsome sporting a Hugo Boss navy suit and shoes, with a red and blue tie to representing Nottingham Forest football team. As he stood anxiously at the peak of the aisle, Tom smiled at his groomsmen, all eagerly awaiting the arrival of the beautiful bride. Since children, Tom and Rosie had been family friends, so the excitement and joy on the guest’s face beamed from ear to ear as they anticipated the marriage of these childhood sweet hearts.

The blushing bride arrived and Rosie took everyone’s breath away. Her effortless beauty brought tears to the eyes of her loved ones. Her Stella York wedding gown was flawlessly suited to her figure and complimented her character and beauty perfectly. With her hair tied off her face in an intricate updo and no veil, the back of the wedding gown could be appreciated for its stunning lace detailed embellishments. The blush colouring suited Rosie perfectly and her beaded necklace added the final details to her gorgeous bridal ensemble. As she walked gracefully down the aisle, Tom couldn’t wait to say ‘I do’ to his stunning bride.

The wedding was a huge success, filled with lots of love, laughter and a little crying. The party roared on into the night with more guests joining the celebrations. After the most enjoyable and memorable day of their lives thus far, Tom and Rosie weren’t finished celebrating yet! Jetting off to Hong Kong for a week and then on to Bali for a fortnight, the couple started their marriage with huge happiness.

How and why did you select your florist?

My mum is a keen gardener so came with me to the Wedding Room to discuss the flowers. She loved Mary’s approach to all things flowers and we both agreed that she had a brilliant eye for the look we were going for. We chose pastels to go with the theme. I didn’t want a really formal bouquet as I wanted it to reflect the relaxed atmosphere we were going for so Mary produced a wonderful wildflower bouquet with astilbe, stocks, astrantia, daisies and thlapsi. My Mum grew all the flowers for the table decorations at home and she and the bridesmaids assembled them the day before!

Were you nervous the night before your wedding, if so, how did you overcome the nerves?

I wasn’t nervous at all! I felt so relaxed and happy the night before which meant I slept really well. Some of our amazing friends and family spent the day before with us decorating the village hall so I knew everything was ready and good to go.

Do you have any top tips on how to get the most out of your photographer?

Meet with them before and talk about what you want from the day.

If you could go back to the planning stage of your wedding, what would you do differently and why?

We found it really hard to find a venue that suited our style. We very much wanted a relaxed and informal affair where people could enjoy themselves. We looked at lots of formal venues which didn’t suit us. I wish we’d accepted the idea of the village hall sooner!

What is the best piece of advice you could offer another bride?

Enjoy it all. In the grand scheme of things the small things don’t matter. If you are feeling relaxed then your guests will too. They will therefore enjoy themselves which will help you to enjoy it.

What was your favourite moment of your wedding?

I genuinely enjoyed every second of it. I really couldn’t choose a best bit. I felt so relaxed and happy all day and it all went so well that I loved every moment.
