Bridal Beauty Month

Some days call for a 10-minute makeup routines done in the comfort of your car outside work, but other days require three hours, seven YouTube tutorials and a trip or two to MAC. And of all the days devoted to divine makeup, your wedding day is the number one. After pinning a board on Pinterest about your favourite shades, gathering opinions from friends and family, reading beauty blogs, sitting through a make-up trial with your wedding makeup artist and THEN the nervous morning of your wedding, you patiently wait for hours as your MUA brings to life your make-up dream. This level of extreme dedication is all worth it when you fall in love with your bridal makeup: like how Kanye loves Kanye. Now, the last thing you want to do is worry about your makeup melting off or disappearing in less time than it took to apply it. To prevent such mania, we investigated the perfect setting spray, likeUrban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray— a five-star rated, cult-fave that will keep your makeup on your face through it all the madness of your wedding day. Set in spray.. Do you have a favourite, trusted brand? Does it actually work?

I love Urban Decays ‘All Nighter‘ It’s a great finish to the final look and seals you in place for the rest of the day.

Underneath it all.. Next, we quizzed Jenni about her secret to bringing to life the perfect face of makeup for a bride. We spoke to her about the latest makeup fads and foundation trends. She’s a makeup guru. Total. Makeup. Guru.

What go to foundation would you recommend for long lasting coverage?

I’m a huge fan of Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue – Ultra long wear buildable coverage that lasts all day.

Contouring – yey or nay? Is it too harsh or, just right? How much highlight should a bride wear?

Subtlety is key with contouring for Brides! Placement in the right areas gives shape and definition. I love to highlight but avoid anything too glittery. A dewy subtle sheen is perfect for catching the light.

Baking – the new craze, what are your thoughts? Any advice if the bridal party is to attempt it?

Bridal makeup doesn’t need to be heavy. it’s all about fine layering. Tailored skincare for your skin type. Primer again to suit your needs. Then setting….!
