Although March seems like yesterday it was actually over five months ago that Mary and I sat down to discuss the 2014/2015 dresses that we would be adding to our collection at the Wedding Room. Mary has made a great move inviting a new designer into our midst and we couldn’t be more excited! Just like Bride-to-be’s we have to wait 4-6 months for new dresses to arrive and I am sooo pleased to announce … the wait is finally over!
Based in Barcelona the ‘La Sposa’ label is designed by the world famous fashion house, Pronovias! With over two decades of experience La Sposa dresses are show stopping, jaw dropping, gorgeous and we want to share them with you! So here they are in all their glory, meet our first dress, Maya…

I’m not ashamed to say I have used Google translate more now than I did in my French GCSE as all the labels are in Spanish. Although I did successfully translate the fabrics, length and other details I finally got to the name, and isn’t it gorgeous? Maya, really does make me think of Spanish beaches, glorious sunsets, the whole cliché!

Just look at her fabulous detail! Maya is perfect for a B2B going for a strapless look, her scalloped lace edge bust is elegant, she gives modest cover with a very soft sweet heart neckline whilst the lace subtly cascades over Maya’s bodice giving a flattering shaped waist. If you’re looking for a classical-meets-modern gown, Maya is the one for you.

Thinking of showing off your waist? You might be interested in a belt. Although not always associated with weddings, adding an belt to your dress can be the perfect way of keeping your guests eyes focused on your best bits! If you’re looking to add a bit of sparkle a silver belt like this one is perfect and the ribbon is transparent so it won’t take any attention away from your dress.

Flowers are always a great addition to any dress, especially as most lace patterns incorporate flowers in them. A flower belt creates a gorgeous silhouette and adds some girly fun!

The best part? We have similar belts available to try in store as well as many more that would look fantastic on Maya.

A train worthy of the Trans-Siberian, Maya really does have it all! Perfect if you’re going for a formal church wedding. The formality of your venue might just be the best way to pick your dress. With her scalloped edge making another appearance the lace detail flows beautifully all the way down the dress.
‘But what about a boogie?’ Our recommended seamstress/magician can take all your worries away by keeping your train out of harms way after your ceremony, leaving you and Maya to enjoy the rest of your evening!

I hope you’re well acquainted with Maya by now and if you’re itching to take your relationship to the next level and meet face to face we’re only a phone call away: 0115 925 8876

adios for now!
