I’m for those who value authenticity above aesthetic. For the most part I take a documentary approach in my wedding photography. I capture what happens as it unfolds before me, rather than intervening or directing. The overall experience is very relaxed, I just blend in and am more like a friend than a supplier. At certain points I will guide or prompt you but only to get a natural reaction. Your photographs should be an honest reflection of you.

The Wedding Room: Brides dress by Lillian West

Look and feel your best in this allover lace wedding gown. The illusion bodice features a plunging neckline and illusion side cutouts. Multiple laces and trim create a sexy bohemian look. What is your best advice leading up to / on the wedding day?

Try to ignore and remove any stress others attempt to put on you, focus only on the needs and happiness of you and your bride/groom. I would also say to organise a ‘last’ date night as an engaged couple before your big day, it gives you something to celebrate before the day and lets you have some romantic time for yourselves to connect.

What is your most memorable moment of the day?

The most memorable moment of the day was seeing my husband’s reaction to me walking down the aisle, but also my dad seeing me in my dress for the first time. Both are very emotional!

How did The Wedding Room contribute to a positive build up to your day?

From the first appointment right up until picking up my dress, The Wedding room always kept me up to date with the whole process and made me feel so comfortable. Most importantly they made me feel amazing in my dress! Lucy enabled me to have the best experience when choosing my wedding dress with all my family and friends there, it was a very special day and exactly the experience I had hoped to have choosing my dream dress. Everyone I cared about was included and made to feel a special part of that experience.

Can you describe the first look?

It was like a dream, I have very blurry memories as I was emotional and nervous, but I do know that the groom was crying and I 100% got that first look you always hope to have from your groom/bride when you walk down the aisle.

What did you love the most about your dress?

The low back was my favourite aspect and how it hugged my body in the most flattering way! I honestly felt the most beautiful I ever have in that dress, I had so many compliments from everyone on the day and everyone commented how the dress was very ‘me’ and suited the venue we chose also.
