I like to ensure the photograph is not only well executed (from lighting to composition and emotional tone) but is also unique and hasn’t been taken by numerous other photographers. Great pride is taken in delivering unique photographs so my couples know that nobody else has the same image. For me this is super important and it ensures my work stays fresh and inventive. Execution is also something that plays a vital role in how good a wedding photograph can be. So many factors can contribute to a well taken photograph and light is one of them. I pay a lot of attention to light and use it in such a way it’s defined my style as a creative wedding photographer over the last 13 years. Many couples today opt for a winter wedding (where you get very little daylight hours) so having a keen understanding of light is imperative.

The Wedding Room: Brides dress by Lillian West

Soft, romantic lace details this tulle A-line wedding gown. Featuring an illusion Sabrina neckline with a plunge, side cutouts, and sexy scoop back. A Chantilly lace underlay in the bodice blends with sequined embroidered appliqués that gracefully cascade throughout the skirt and train. Hidden tulle pockets in the skirt are the finishing touch.

A message from Lucy…

What is your best advice leading up to / on the wedding day?

Everyone I know that has gotten married told me the day would fly by, and it really does! Remember to stop and take it all in. It’s about the two of you… On your wedding day… kiss each other, hold each other, and say sweet things to each other. This day is all about the two of you and nobody else. Everyone else is there to enjoy and share in your happiness but at the end of the day it is all about you.

What is your most memorable moment of the day?

Walking down the aisle, and suddenly being able to only see him, and his face had a huge grin on it, just like mine did. I still can’t tell you who was sitting by the aisle as I walked up it, it was all a blur except for him.

How did The Wedding Room contribute to a positive build up to your day?

Absolutely wonderful experience and fantastic service! Mary and Lucy are so knowledgeable and put me at ease straight away. The whole experience from browsing to trying a variety of dresses was very relaxed and we were given plenty of time – it didn’t feel like a rush. I loved that Lucy took photos of me in the dresses and then compared them side by side to help with the process of narrowing it down to find the one. Even after buying my dress, Mary and Lucy were always on hand to help.

What did you love the most about your dress?

Everything! The intricate detailing, the hidden pockets, the low back, the way the train fell. I loved everything about the dress and I felt amazing in it.
