Welcome February – The month of love and the most popular month for engagements. As a little lockdown project at The Wedding Room we decided to find out the top ten locations in the world for people to say those four little words…
‘Will You Marry Me ?’
1 – Central Park
With so many backdrops for the perfect proposal, Central Park is the top location. From the Loeb Boathouse, the Zoo and of course the Carousel, this New York attraction is perfect.
2 – The Eiffel Tower
The city of love, what could be more romantic than a proposal at the Eiffel Tower. This iconic landmark sees literally thousands of brides and bridegrooms say YES every year.
3 – Brooklyn Bridge
Another New York destination for many to say YES. We just loved the photographs taken with the pylons filling the frame, early evening with the New York Skyline in the background.
4 – The Grand Canyon
This beautiful natural wonder is the most amazing setting for a marriage proposal, I mean… just wow !
5 – Oia, Santorini, Greece
The orange sunset against the white landscape makes for the most romantic setting. What a way to remember the beginning of your marriage journey.
6 – The Coloseum, Rome
When the sun begins to set behind this breathtaking setting it is quite magical. Find a place away from the crowds for intimacy.
7 – Tower Bridge, London
It has been said that Tower Bridge is the most popular landmark for lovers in London and it is easy to see why. So many city landmarks can be seen from here, the photographs will be amazing.
8 – Sydney Opera House
Ok, so really the BEST spot for this location is from a boat in the harbour with this 20th century landmark in the background. Such a distinctive and famous building we absolutely love.
9 – The Louvre, Paris
Paris’s second most popular option is this impressive glass pyramid located on the right bank of The Seine. Once again, sunset is the best time when the building is lit. Stunning.
10 – Lake Louise, Canada
One of the most iconic and photographed natural wonder, this location is a favourite of lovers of the outdoors and it’s easy to see why. Breathtaking scenery, the photographers dream.
